A parade of stars at the ABS-CBN Ball
Kim Chiu, Nadine Lustre, Kathryn Bernardo… You name it — they were all there!

“I think I’ve been preparing for this my whole life!” Kisses Delavin summed up what everyone else her age was probably thinking as they walked the red carpet at the first ABS-CBN Ball. The 19-year-old was one of the first to arrive, wearing a lavender blush ballgown by Francis Libiran.

Other young stars who dazzled their way to the red carpet were Jada Avanzado (daughter of singers Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado), Sofia Andres, Miles Ocampo, Ylona Garcia, and Janella Salvador.

Power Couples

Fans who gathered outside Makati Shangri-La, where the ball was held, were there for their favorite loveteams. The couples who walked hand in hand lent an air of romance to this special gathering. Leading the pack, of course, were James Reid and Nadine Lustre, aka JaDine. These two came in bold, black outfits. James, in particular, made a fashion statement with his Michael Cinco suit, which used a chest harness as a fashion accessory.

These Kapamilya pairs also stood out for their winning looks: Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel), Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (LizQuen), Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto (JoshLia), Maris Racal and Inigo Pascual (MarnIgo), and of course Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber (MayWard).

There were also other “firsts” among couples who walked the red carpet. Sarah Geronimo finally joined Matteo Guidicelli for this ball. She was unable to accompany her boyfriend in previous Star Magic Balls. Kim Chiu also reunited with her erstwhile partner Xian Lim, who left Star Magic recently and joined Viva Artists Agency.

For a Good Cause

The ABS-CBN Ball is not all about glamour, though. The event is part of the campaign to re-launch Bantay Bata 163’s Children’s Village in Norzagaray, Bulacan. The Children’s Village will serve as a home to neglected, exploited, and abused children.

Veteran stars like Sandy Andolong and Christopher de Leon, who were also in attendance, expressed their encouragement for Bantay Bata’s campaign.

“This is for a good cause,” affirmed Sandy.

Multi-awarded performers like Maricel Soriano, Lorna Tolentino, Amy Austria, and Janice de Belen also graced the event.

Star Extravaganza

It is not only the fans who look forward to affairs like this, but even the stars themselves. For where else can they gather together and get to reunite with other stars? This is the event where they can let go, unwind, and enjoy themselves among their peers.

Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos

Judy Ann Santos and husband Ryan Agoncillo conveyed it best when they shared that they were quite excited to see old friends again.

“I expect to have fun. We have an excellent table. We’re all friends,” says Ryan.

“I’m happy that we’re able to actually be here and celebrate with all the stars of ABS-CBN…It’s been quite a while bago namin makita ulit (ang friends). So malamang mahaba-habang tawanan ng gabi,” affirmed Judy Ann.
