Grammy award-winner hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fired up the Philippine stage once again during their recent concert at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
Filipino rap music enthusiasts couldn’t contain their excitement to see the group and most of them were shouting “Ilabas nyo na!” after the opening performances from guest artists. And as soon as group members Bizzy Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Wish Bone stepped onstage, concertgoers wholeheartedly sang along with the group’s hit music such as “The Crossroads,” “Thuggish Ruggish Bone,” and “Resurrection.”
The group further expressed their gratitude to local fans who have been with them for more than 24 years and to those who were present during their one-night only concert in Manila. This is the second time that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony visited the country. First time was in 2014 when they performed at a benefit concert to help Typhoon Yolanda victims.
Originating from Cleveland, Ohio, the group debuted their recording “Creepin On Ah Come up” under Ruthless Record in 1993. And as a tribute to American rapper Eazy-E, they released the song “The Crossroads” which bagged them a Grammy award in 1997.
PH rap icons take center stage
During the concert, the California natives weren’t the only ones who received a raving approval from the MOA crowd. Local rappers Blaze N Kane, Gloc 9, and rising star Shanti Dope performed sets to roaring applause.
Shanti Dope, the 17-year-old talent from Quezon City performed his hit rap “Nadarang” while Gloc-9 gave a spirited rendition of his new single “Norem,” together with rappers Abaddon, J Kris, and joined by Shanti Dope.
“Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Live in Manila” was made possible by Ovation Productions.
