Alex Gonzaga shares previous heartbreak and relationship issues during film presscon

After the success of Alex Gonzaga’s vlog anniversary–where fans even braved the rains to see her comedic sketch–the 30-year-old performer is now the lead star in the film Nakalimutan Ko Nang Kalimutan Ka.

The rom-com, written and directed by Pinoy Big Brother alum Fifth Solomon, tells the story of a girl going through heartbreak. This is Fifth’s directorial debut.

“This is about a girl na hindi maka-move on sa ex niya. Na magpapapalit na siya ng puso thinking na it will change her feelings. So may pagka-fantasy siya pero reality,” Alex explains.

In an exclusive interview with MB Entertainment, Alex shares that she was able to relate with what her character went through.

When you enter into a relationship, lalo na kapag baguhan ka, bata ka, first boyfriend mo, ini-expect mo na this is it! This is the one! So you always end up being disappointed. Tapos parang hindi ka maka-move-on dun sa feeling, hindi mo ma-grasp na hindi siya totoo,” Alex reveals, based from her own experience. Yun ‘yung mas masakit tanggapin, na nagkamali ka. Na ‘yung ini-expect mo hindi iyon. Yung pinapaniwalaan mo hindi iyon.

She goes on to add that one of the most agonizing experience while in a relationship is the realization that what you have is not real and it is all just for show.

The film’s director, Fifth Solomon, with Alex Gonzaga, Jerald Napoles, and Jojo Agpangan.

Fifth, who is also studying for his Master’s in Film in Australia, shares that the inspiration for Nakalimutan… came from his own experience and from the broken-hearted people he has spoken to.

Nakalimutan Ko Nang Kalimutan Ka, which also stars Vin Abrenica, Candy Pangilinan, Jerald Napoles, and Jojo Agpangan, is produced by Wilbros Films and will premiere on September 19.
