Ciara Sotto is back in showbiz
“I’m ready,” admits the former Eat Bulaga! co-host

Ciara Sotto is slowly making her way back into showbiz after taking a break for two years.

In an interview with MB Digital Entertainment team during a fashion event in Shangri-La Plaza, Ciara shares “I admit, I did take time off kasi I wanted to spend more time with Crixus after all the trouble that I went through. But now, I’m slowly getting back na. I’m ready.”

Crixus is her son with businessman Jojo Oconer who she married in 2010, and with whom she separated with two years ago. This was the “trouble” she was referring to.

Now the 37-year-old mom spends most of her time bonding with her three-year-old. The two even walked the ramp together during the “Sun Up To Showdown” fashion show for Shangri-La Plaza Mall. There, Crixus showed signs of a being an entertainer when he gamely posed and walked down the runway. “I’m surprised, actually, because I was so shy. I wouldn’t do this when I was a kid. I was trying to practice with him and he did a rehearsal without people here pa. He seems to be sociable naman. It’s just for fun,” Ciara laughingly shares.

Ciara is currently part of the supporting cast for GMA-7’s afternoon drama series Contessa, which stars Glaiza de Castro. And while she’s taking her time picking the right projects, Ciara keeps herself busy by teaching pole dancing. She holds classes for beginners, for those who are interested in learning it. “I teach twice a week. I got certified for it a long time ago before I got pregnant. One in Movement Dance Studio, which is in Ortigas in AIC Burgundy Tower, 20th floor. The other studio is in The Upper Deck. They have a closed studio there where I teach on Wednesdays,” Ciara explains.

She has also held private classes for the likes of Sarah Geronimo, Sarah Lahbati, Bela Padilla, and the G-Force Dancers. “Marami na rin kasing nagpo-pole, which is good. My advocacy is to promote as an exercise, and make sure that it’s not the slutty, stripper kind. I have nothing against that though, but I just want to teach it for fitness.”

And while Ciara is taking it one day at a time, she is also glad that her family is behind her decisions wholeheartedly, especially her parents, Senate President Tito Sotto and actress Helen Gamboa. They even attended the fashion event to show support, much to Ciara’s delight. “Thank you for always looking after me and my son,” she tells her mom.
